I have bought a villa in Mojacar Playa, I have been there twice on vacation and my best friends, who lived there for many years, said it would suit me - they now live in Malaga.

The problem is that I have lived in Abu Dhabi for 20 odd years and will be retiring to Mojacar on my own. Can anyone please tell me whether there are regular get togethers for the more mature person - I am male and 58, sounds so old!

If not any suggestions as to how I can build up a circle of friends please?

Thanks

Hello and welcome. Mojacar Playa is a very lively town in the summer, their beach bars/cafes usually have something going on. Try looking at some of the forums to see what events there are that you could join in with.

We have several groups and associations that meet regularly. Apart from the more prosaic ones, there is the weekly meets (plus trips, lunches and so on) of the Club Taurino de Mojácar, a mainly British club that searches out local history, culture and, of course, bullfights.

Hi, try the 'Whats on' forum here on this site, best wishes, John.
P.S. There is a British Legion in the area also that might be of interest........
